Redistricting Moving Back to Center Stage Already?

St. Rep. Jim Jackson Appointed to Redistricting Committee width=75(AUSTINTX)  State Representative Jim Jackson (R-Carrollton) has been appointed to joint subcommittees with the Redistricting Committee.  The joint subcommittees will hold hearings throughout the State on the drawing of Congressional & House -- Senate District lines as a result of the new 2010 Census.   Jackson was named to the slots by Rep. Todd Hunter Chairman of the House Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence Committee. Representative Jackson is a member of the joint subcommittee that will hold hearings in Dallas Ft. Worth and Richardson. Jackson is also a member of the joint subcommittee slated to hold  hearings in McAllen Corpus Christi and Laredo. Said Jackson I am pleased and honored to have the opportunity to participate in the very important redistricting process that will have a great bearing on drawing the new Congressional and House and Senate Districts. width=384The first joint subcommittee hearing will be held in San Antonio Texas at 10 a.m. on June 21.2010 at the UTSA Downtown campus.  The second joint subcommittee hearing will be held in McAllen Texas to begin at 10 a.m. on July 19 2010 at the McAllen Convention Center . The third joint subcommittee hearing will be held in Corpus Christi Texas and begins at 10 a.m. on July 21 2010.  It will be held at the Corpus Christi City Council Chambers.
