Congressman John Culberson
This amendment states that continue to issue benefits to illegal immigrants fleeing felons and people who refuse to look for work will lose all federal funding from the Department of Agriculture.
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Recent reports indicate that taxpayer-funded welfare benefits are being distributed to individuals who are not legally eligible to receive them. This is outrageous and in response I passed an amendment to the House Agriculture Appropriations bill which requires states to follow existing guidelines for SNAP benefits (food stamps). With this amendment states that continue to issue benefits to illegal immigrants fleeing felons and people who refuse to look for work will lose all federal funding from the Department of Agriculture.
This common-sense solution will help put a stop to waste fraud and abuse and protect the programs for those who truly need them. Click here to watch a 90-second explanation of my amendment.
