TexasInsider Report: AUSTIN Texas On Friday November 11 in commemoration of Veterans Day Rep. Alonzo took part in a number of festivities across Dallas to recognize the nations 23.4 million living veterans and the generations before them who fight and have fought on a daily basis to protect our freedom and democracy.
Among the events he attended was one in West Dallas where he was joined by Dallas Mayor the Honorable Mike Rawlings some local veterans and other guests.
Alonzo Returns From Legislators Conference in Puerto Rico Nov. 17-20
State Rep. Alonzo just returned from the 9th Annual National Summit of the National Hispanic Conference of State Legislators (NHCSL) in Fajardo Puerto Rico which took place from Thursday-Sunday Nov. 17-20.
Among the informative sessions presented at the summit were some focusing on the digital age (Connecting the Dots in the Digital Age: Policy Social Capital and Advocacy); Medicaid Managed Care: Patient Protections; Latino Jobs: The Future of Employment and Economic Opportunity for Americas Fastest-Growing Community; Disenfranchised Voters/Political Representation; Business & Economic Development; Education & Civil Rights; Energy; Health Care; International Relations Trade & Immigration; and Labor & Workforce Development among others.
