Rep. Diana Maldonado Files for Re-Election

diane-maldonado(Round Rock) Today State Representative Diana Maldonado filed for re-election in the 2010 election cycle to serve another two year term. It is truly an honor to represent the families and businesses that call Williamson County home and I look forward to representing House District 52 for another term at our state Capitol in Austin."  Rep. Maldonado said.  House District 52 is uniquely positioned to be a leader in education technology and health care and I look forward to continuing my work on behalf of the cities and communities throughout the district. For a place on the party primary ballot in 2010 candidates must file between December 3 2009 and January 4 2010.  They must file with the state or county chair of their party.  The primary election date is Tuesday March 2 2010. Rep. Maldonado worked tirelessly to secure vital funds to help Williamson County continue its growth during the 81st Legislative Session. Rep. Maldonado secured more than $17 million in funding for higher education institutions in HD-52. This funding will increase opportunities for students to receive a quality affordable continuing education at the Texas A&M Health Science Center (HSC) the East Williamson Higher Education Center (EWCHEC) and Texas State Universitys Round Rock Higher Education Center. With her seat on the Capitol Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) she fought for $10 million to improve and expand FM 1460 in Round Rock.
