Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas I fully support the recent decision made by the SBOE said State Rep. Dan Flynn (R-Van). The Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) recently cautioned textbook publishers to provide fair treatment of the worlds religions or to be prepared to lose sales by the state that buys more textbooks than any other. Anti-Christian rhetoric is inappropriate in a country that was founded on Judeo Christian values and tradition principals.
The resolution introduced by former Texas school board member Randy Rives states:
Resolved That the SBOE will look to reject future prejudicial social studies submissions that continue to offend Texas law with respect to treatment of the worlds major religious groups by significant inequalities of coverage space-wise and/or by demonizing or lionizing
one or more of them over others.
The resolution adopted on a 7-6 vote declares that pro-Islamic/anti-Christian half-truths selective disinformation and false editorial stereotypes still roil some social studies textbooks nationwide.
I urge all Texans to support the
Texas State Board of Education members who want to stop the pro-Islam/anti-Christian anti-Judeo bias in our students textbooks. School children should be spared the move to political correctness and instead be taught a true and correct version of history said Flynn.
