Rep. Gene Green Votes to Fund DHS

gene-greenHouse Passes Clean DHS Funding Bill with Bipartisan Support Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C.  On Tuesday the House of Representatives voted to pass H.R. 240 the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Appropriations Act.  The Senate-amended bill fully fund DHS through September 30 2015 and does not contain any language pertaining to immigration enforcement. Congressman Gene Green released the following statement:
I am proud to stand with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle in passing a clean DHS funding bill. Fully funding DHS will help protect the people of Houston and Harris County from those who seek to do harm to the U.S. The truth of the matter is that this should have been passed in December with the rest of the federal government appropriations. I hope House leadership will end the pattern of legislating-by-crisis that has taken hold in recent years and engage Members of both parties in passing sorely needed legislationlike the doc fix and surface transportationthat will rebuild America and strengthen our economy.
