First series of meetings and events for 2013 begin this week
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas (Houston) Congressman Gene Green will host his first series of town hall meetings and events of the 113th Congress beginning this week.
Residents of the 29th Congressional District are encouraged to attend Congressman Greens town hall meetings and express their views and concerns. Congressman Green will discuss a wide variety of issues including any that are raised at the meetings by constituents of the District.
The Senior Issues Forum will feature legislative issues affecting seniors including updates on federal programs and upcoming work in Congress. Agency representatives from the Social Security Administration and the Houston/Harris County Area Agency on Aging will also share important information and be available to answer questions about health care referral services and programs for seniors.
I encourage our constituents to come to any of the town hall meetings because hearing from the District keeps me up to date on our communitys concerns and I can return to Washington better equipped to advocate their interests" said Rep. Green. If constituents are unable to attend an event our office is open every week and we respond to all calls and emails from our constituents."
Congressman Green also invites students and parents to his Paying for College Seminar a free financial aid seminar that explains the federal financial aid process and different sources of funding available to students including federal grants and loans. Representatives from local colleges will also be present to give information and answer questions.
