(Corpus Christi TX) - Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC today awarded Corpus Christi State Rep. Todd Hunter the TLR Civil Justice Leadership Award for his leadership in the fight to protect the lawsuit reforms that have been passed in Texas. Speaking to a luncheon in Corpus Christi TLR PAC Chairman Richard Trabulsi said:
Rep. Hunters astute and intelligent leadership of the House Judicial and Civil Jurisprudence Committee was critical in blocking dozens of bills in the last legislative session that would have weakened lawsuit reform or created new opportunities for lawsuits. Every Texan should thank Rep. Hunter for the key role he played in making sure that Texas model lawsuit reforms remain in place.
Trial lawyers pushed almost 900 bills in the last legislative session that would have rolled back existing reforms created new ways to sue or expanded existing causes of action. Thanks to the courage and commitment of Rep. Hunter and other lawmakers who stood up to wealthy personal injury trial lawyers none of those bills were signed into law."
Rep. Hunter represents Texas House District 32 which includes Corpus Christi and parts of Nueces County as well as Aransas Calhoun and San Patricio Counties.
