Rep. Paul Workman Honors Fallen Texas Police Officers

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Special Agent Jaime Jorge Zapata ... a local Austin Police Officer just recently killed on duty was one of the names read aloud last weekend by State Representative Paul Workman a member of the House Corrections Committee. It is my honor to be able to recognize and honor those who have fallen in this last year by reading the names during this ceremony on the Capitol Grounds Workman said. What they do here to honor the police officers from around our state is a great thing and you can certainly feel the spirit of the officers that have gone on.

Texans families & friends traveled from across the state to the Police Officers Memorial on the Capitol Grounds and paid tribute to those Officers killed in the line of duty during the past year. Texas Insider covered the ceremony & service.     Its unfortunate that there are so many names on the wall but these people have all ... over the years ... given their lives for our safety said Workman. For the Combined Law Enforcement Officers of Texas (CLEAT) the Police Officers Memorial Associaton ... the brotherhood of the Police Officers here ... what they do is amazing."
