Rep. Pea announces $ 2.24 million grant award for South Texas International Airport at Edinburg

width=71Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas - The Texas Transportation Commission approved a grant award of approximately $2249900 for South Texas International at Edinburg at a meeting today.  The grant will be used to fund taxi-way improvements at the airport.  Work at the airport is expected to begin in 60 days.   The award of this grant is a testament to the hard work put in by the Noe Garza our late commissioner and the rest our citys leadership said Representative Pea. These improvements will continue to build up the facility and make Edinburg a destination for cargo and commercial air traffic. Project costs will be funded through TxDOTs Aviation Facilities Grant Program.  The city of Edinburg is responsible for providing 10 of the funding for the project.
