Rep. Rob Orr Joins Effort to Combat Underage Drinking with $10000 Poster Contest

Texas High School Seniors Vie for Educational Scholarships rob-orr3Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas  State Rep. Rob Orr of Burleson is teaming up with the Texas Hospitality Association (THA) to fight underage drinking and to promote alcohol responsibility through a statewide poster contest that will award four 2013 graduating high school seniors a total of $10000 in educational scholarships. THA will award a $5000 scholarship to the Texas high school senior who submits the best poster conveying the message or theme: If you are under 21 its illegal to consume or purchase alcoholic beverages in Texas. A $2500 scholarship will go to second place $1500 for third place and $1000 for fourth place. The winning posters will be used in a statewide alcohol awareness campaign. We are very excited about involving Texas high school seniors in developing a message that will combat underage drinking in their age group and reminds all Texans of the need for alcohol awareness said Rep. Orr. The contest is open to all 2013 Texas high school seniors. Artwork must be an original design and may be computer or electronically generated hand drawn or photographed. I encourage all eligible students to submit their original designs and help promote this important message Rep. Orr said. Students have until May 3 to submit their poster to THA.
