Texas High School Seniors Vie for $5000 Educational Scholarship rob-orr3BURLESON -- State Rep. Rob Orr (R-Burleson) is teaming up with the Texas Hospitality Association (THA) to fight underage drinking and to promote alcohol responsibility through a statewide poster contest that will award a 2010 high school graduating senior a $5000 educational scholarship. THA will award a $5000 scholarship to the Texas high school senior who designs and submits the best poster conveying the message or theme: If you are under 21 its illegal to consume or purchase alcoholic beverages in Texas."  The winning poster will be distributed statewide to Texas establishments selling or serving alcohol. We are very excited about involving Texas high school seniors in developing a message that will combat underage drinking in their age group and reminds all Texans of the need for alcohol awareness" said Rep. Orr. The contest is open to all 2010 Texas high school seniors.  Artwork must be an original design and may be computer or electronically generated hand drawn or photographed. I encourage any interested high school senior in Johnson or Bosque County to submit an entry Rep. Orr said. Students have until May 14 to submit their poster to THA.  The winner of the $5000 scholarship will be determined by a vote of each Texas House of Representatives office.
