Mayor of Valle Hermoso Tamaulipas Mexico Honored on House Floor HR 289

Texas State Representative Roberto R. Alonzo honored the mayor Valle Hermoso Tamaulipas Mexico - the Honorable Hamid Name Pineda - who was visiting the US as part of his volunteer humanitarian efforts and other philanthropic work that provides clothing food medical supplies and other essential goods to underprivileged and low-income people particularly children along both sides of the US/Mexico border. House Resolution 289 (HR 289) which was passed unanimously on the House floor.
I am always honored indeed to recognize and give public acknowledgement to those who give unselfishly and voluntarily of their time energy and humanitarian efforts to help those in need in our communities especially when it involves children and low-income families who are so poor that they cannot even afford the most basic necessities of daily living including food clothes blankets or medical care.
The Honorable Mayor of Valle Hermoso Tamaulipas Mexico - Mr. Hamid Name Pineda is one of those rare individuals who for years has been voluntarily giving of his time dedication and commitment to help less privileged families along the US/Mexico border through his philanthropic work and humanitarian efforts said Rep. Alonzo.
With our current economic situation high rate of unemployment escalating costs of insurance and medical costs coupled with the increased rate of inflation that most average hard-working 2-parent families are struggling to keep pace with there is no doubt that government cannot do it alone.
It will take more people like Mayor Name Pineda and others who are wiling to step up to the plate volunteer their time and energy and make a positive difference in the lives of all citizens not only in the US but particularly those living among some of the most impoverished regions of the country like the US/Mexico border continued Rep. Alonzo.
HR 289 which today honored Mayor Name Pineda for his efforts read in part: Mayor Pineda has been a consultant for the National Chamber of Commerce and the Red Cross and served as state president for the Committee on Business Cooperation; a Rotarian for more than two decades….president of the Rotary Club in 1986….he has given generously of his time and expertise t many projects and organizations in the Lower Rio Grande Valley and northern Mexico.
It goes on to say that This notable leader has been recognized for his myriad endeavors in support of education and has shown particular sensitivity to the needs of low-income students; a respected humanitarian and philanthropist he has taken part in many charitable activities through the years delivering blankets food school supplies and medicine to people in need assisting in the construction and maintenance of the Center for Cerebral Palsy and bringing joy to children as a member of a group that provides gifts treats and entertainment….
HR 289 further describes him as …a man of great integrity…wise counsel warm compassion and outstanding management abilities…which are an inspiration to all who are privileged to know him.
Along with his beautiful wife First Lady Magaly Perez de Name the mayor was joined on the House floor and gallery by a host of other Mexican dignitaries family and friends - including some from Texas - who witnessed his congratulatory honor on the House Floor
