Rep. Stefani Carter Launches 2012 Summer Internship Program

Stefani Carter (R-Dallas) today while announcing the launch of the Carter Future Leaders Program a paid summer internship opportunity for North Texas students.   More than a dozen North Texas businesses have agreed to participate in the program including University of Texas at Dallas Methodist Richardson Medical Center Kraft Foods Richardson Independent School District North Dallas Bank and Trust Assurenet among others.  As a state lawmaker I believe in the importance of supporting our youth as they prepare to enter the working world said Carter. The Carter Future Leaders Program is a competitive paid summer internship program that pairs high school and college-aged students with leading local businesses in the students prospective career path. Through the Carter Future Leaders Program students can further develop the practical skills and experience they need in the real world as they work within leading local width=310businesses Carter said. Applicants accepted into the program also have the opportunity to participate in weekend enrichment workshops led by Representative Carter and other local professionals. Applications are due by April 30 2012. The paid Summer Internship Program will begin on June 11 and run through August 10 2012.
