Rep. Wayne Christian and Comptroller Susan Combs to Host a Budget Townhall Meeting in Marshall Texas - March 14th

Bryan Hughes invites you to attend a Budget Townhall Meeting with your Texas Comptroller Susan Combs on March 14th at the R & R Bakery & Coffee Shoppe in historic downtown Marshall Texas. The event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Comptroller Combs and Rep. Wayne Christian will be discussing important issues facing the state in the next budget cycle our current fiscal health and what we can expect in the future. Rep. Bryan Hughes is sponsoring the event. Comptroller Combs recently made headlines for challenging the Obama Administration to stop playing politics with womens health. In a written statement Susan Combs said As Comptroller I have consistently opposed using taxpayer dollars to fund abortion services and Texas should be able to provide important basic care without being compelled to provide money to organizations like Planned Parenthood. Womens health is too important to be used as a political pawn by Washington politicians. I urge President Obama to do the right thing ending this intrusion on our state sovereignty while allowing our state to provide healthcare for women with limited economic means. Rep. Wayne Christian has also made headlines recently for defending the pro-life achievements of the Texas Legislature during the last session. He has been interviewed by USA Today Reuters the New York Times and other publications who have sought him out as a leader of the pro-life and conservative movement in Texas politics Comptroller Combs and Rep. Christian will be discussing the Texas budget and seeking feedback from the voters on priorities for the future. State Representative Candidate Forum in Marshall Texas - March 17th On Saturday March 17th from 2:00-4:00p.m. the Harrison County Republican Party will host a candidate forum for the office of State Representative for the new House District 9. The event will be held at East Texas Baptist University in the Ornelas Student Center on the second floor in the Woods Great Room. The event is open to all. Incumbent State Rep.
