said Republican Bracy Wilson Monday announcing he is seeking the partys nomination for the McKinney-based House District 70 being vacated by State Rep. Ken Paxton who is running for State Senate. Wilson released a list of endorsements supporting his candidacy totaling more than 400.
They agree with me that we need a new conservative voice in the legislature with real-world experience of successfully implementing our shared conservative values. Ive been doing that for 25 years" Wilson said.
Wilson has been aggressively campaigning for the seat for several months and says his background makes him uniquely qualified to serve. He spent 19 years in public ministry and has founded four companies in his career including his current firm which consults with communities throughout Texas to help them establish high performing Texas public charter schools.
Given the current economic climate the last thing we can afford in the legislature is another lawyer or career politician who merely gives lip service to the things that matter" Wilson said.
In the last two years alone my company has created over 500 new jobs for educators and we will provide over 250 more in 2012. Ill take my experience of creating jobs to Austin to help pass legislation so that other business owners can not only retain their workforce but expand and create new jobs as well."
He and his wife Nadine have two children Bryce and Brooke. Wilson a sixth generation Texan traces his familys roots back to the earliest days of McKinneys history when his great great uncle and Civil War veteran Elbert Wiley Kirkpatrick taught at the first public school in Collin County.
Kirkpatrick lived in the house that still stands at 601 Parker Street.
