Congressman Bill Flores
Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. U.S. Representatives Bill Flores (R-TX) Peter Welch (D-VT) Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) Jim Costa (D-CA) and Steve Womack (R-AR) issued the following statement regarding the Environmental Protection Agencys (EPA) proposed 2017 renewable fuel volumes under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS):
The proposed increases in the volume of ethanol under the current RFS will continue to harm Americas consumers and economy while adversely impacting the environment. The EPAs proposal forces more ethanol into the market than our current infrastructure can handle. This is unsustainable and increases food and fuel costs on hardworking American families. House Members have put forth bipartisan solutions to cap fuel ethanol volumes to match current market realities and lessen the impact of the ethanol mandate on hardworking families and businesses. It is time we move forward with solutions that will have a positive impact on the American economy while lowering emissions and protecting consumers.
