Texas Republicans inexcusable reactions to the BP oil spill are a crude example of failed leadership. Judging by some of their disgusting comments Rick Perrys party has nothing in the tank and is running on fumes.
Remarks like these are just another example of the dire need for Democrats to restore responsible leadership to Texas.
Take a look at some of the worst:
Rick Perry led the way by declaring the devastating spill an Act of God attempting to absolve BP of any and all wrongdoing. Its not only absurd - its a blatant insult. Its an insult to the people and coastal economies devastated by the oil spill and to the victims of actual natural disasters.

Perry is not alone in his views - it seems theres something in the water over on the extreme right. During a recent congressional hearing with BPs Tony Hayward Texas
Republican Rep. Joe Barton bubbled up with some crude and slimy comments.
Instead of standing up for Americans affected by the spill Barton whose top corporate donor is a partner of BP on Deepwater Horizon apologized to BP for the treatment it received from the government.
He said it is a tragedy of the first proportion that a private corporation can be subjected to ... a $20 billion dollar shakedown.
Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn came to Joe Bartons defense with a slick attempt to turn the blame around.
Cornyn claimed that the White Houses actions against BP amounted to a political
issue for the President and that hes trying to deal with it by showing how tough hes being against BP.
Help us return common sense leadership to Texas.
