I am looking forward to a productive legislative session ... By State Rep. Jeff Leach jeff-leachTexas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas I am excited to report that earlier this week Texas Speaker of the House Joe Straus announced committee assignments for the 84th Legislative Session and selected me to serve on the House Committee on Government Transparency & Operation and the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence.  Now that committee assignments have been made the real work begins and I am looking forward to a productive legislative session that tackles the real opportunities and challenges that Texans expect and deserve for us to address. This starts with passing a more honest and transparent budget that prioritizes our states core functions of government - including:
  1. LeachPublic Education
  2. Water & Transportation Infrastructure
  3. Public Safety and Criminal Justice
  4. Securing our Border and
  5. Delivering on the conservative principles that my constituents sent me to Austin to fight for.
Serving the wonderful people of House District 67 is a tremendous honor and blessing and I look forward to continue advocating on their behalf through my committee work and on the floor of the Texas House. District Spotlight! I have filed HB 1194 which would authorize funding for a much-needed Engineering Building and Science Building for The University of Texas at Dallas - a global magnet in research innovation science Leachengineering and business. A prime jewel for North Texas The University of Texas at Dallas is on its path towards attaining Tier One status and has been recognized by the Princeton Review as one of the best values among the nations public colleges for two consecutive years. It is an honor to represent this stellar institution in the Texas House and I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure that this much-needed funding is properly addressed this legislative session. State Representative Jeff Leach serves the citizens of House District 67 consisting of portions of Plano Allen Richardson and Dallas in Collin County. A committed conservative Leach believes in limiting the size and scope of government lowering taxes and wisely investing in the critical infrastructure necessary to ensure Texas remains prosperous and strong as our state continues to grow.
