SBOE’s Geraldine “Tincy” Miller Filing for Re-Election

SBOE Conservative leader to file on 1st day possible, Saturday, November 9th.

TincyMiller4Texas Insider Report: DALLAS, Texas – “I’m running for re-election. I will continue to work hard to promote a conservative agenda, and provide the best education in the world for the children of Texas while being a strong fiscal conservative for the taxpayers,” said Geraldine ‘Tincy’ Miller, a former State Board of Education (SBOE) Chairman and long-time Republican member of the SBOE, announcing she will seek another term to the Dallas-based District 12.

Miller, appointed by Gov. Rick Perry to serve as Chair from 2003-2007. will file her re-election registration on the first day of filing, Saturday, November 9th.

“I have dedicated my life to education, but there is more work to do” Miller said.

During her tenure in office, Miller has helped pass the first Phonics-Based Reading Curriculum in Texas. She also developed the first Dyslexia Program for parents, teachers and students in Texas, including the Texas Education Agency published Dyslexia Handbook.

Permanent School Fund PSFMiller has long been a ferverent, and at times a hardnosed protecter of the Permanent School Fund (PSF,) often referred to as the “Children’s Textbook Fund,” from being raided by the legislature or special interest groups.

She also saved Texas tax payers millions of dollars by eliminating certain uses of outside investment consultants for the PSF’s managment.

Miller has been known to be one of the SBOE’s leaders in the debate to help insure that American exceptionalism and Western cultural values are taught in Texas’ History Classrooms.

“The one I thing that has upset most people about this year’s CSCOPE catastrophe, is that some have the audacity to blame America for 9-11,” noted Miller.

Don’t miss Miller’s interview on the latest SBOE actions to address the dilemma of the CSCOPE curriculum being used in the classrooms of some of  Texas’ 5+ million school children.

“CSCOPE is not research based, it gives only one view of history, and does not give you (or Texas students) a balanced view at all,” Miller said.

State Board of Education District 12 includes all of Collin County, and most of North, East and Central parts of Dallas County.

Tincy Miller CSPOPE and SBOE 9-21-13“The citizens know that I will always fight to protect our children’s textbooks fund, the permanent school fund, from special interest groups.

“And I will continue to always make sure the Texas tax payer gets the very best return on their tax dollars invested in education in our public school system” said Miller.

The Republican Primary will be held March 4th, 2014, and the General Election will be held in November 2014.
