SBOE Chair Gail Lowe Backed by House Ed Chair Rob Eissler

Public Ed Chair Eissler on Social Studies Standards Gail Lowe & the recent Fordham Institute Report width=214Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas I think the most important part of this is that Gail Lowe needs to be confirmed by the Senate (for SBOE Chair). The Fordham Institute was really interested in National Standards and Ive been going around the country the past year telling folks that yes Texas has done its own standards & I think theyre fine. So it would be natural that Fordham would take a shot at Texas said State Rep. Rob Eissler Chairman of the House Public Education Committee while talking to the Liberty Institute Tuesday.

Watch the brief interview with Chairman Rob Eissler here.

Eissler spoke with Jonathan Saenz of Liberty Institute concerning allegations against Texas Social Studies Standards recently adopted by the State Board of Education (SBOE) it chair Gail Lowe and the recent Fordham Institute Report criticizing the Texas history curriculum.
I continue to support the social studies curriculum standards and the work of the State Board of Education and its chair Gail Lowe.  Any questions I had about the process existed before I visited with Mrs. Lowe.  Now I have a greater understanding of the State Board of Educations process.  My questions have been answered and my concerns have been put to rest."
