Governor Perry Signs School Choice Week Proclamation as 10 Events Kick Off State-Wide
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas January 22 2012 --- Texas will celebrate National School Choice Week starting today with ten events planned across the state designed to highlight the need for enhanced educational options for children.
Texas Governor Rick Perry recently joined with 25 other governors in signing a proclamation recognizing January 22-28 as School Choice Week in Texas
Texas is one of the states holding the highest number of National School Choice Week (January 22-28 2012) events. Nationwide nearly 400 events are being organized by hundreds of organizations; the events will be held each of the 50 states comprising the largest education reform celebration in American history. Tens of thousands of Americans are expected to participate.

School choice supporters believe that Texas leaders should do even more to improve student achievement and attainment by expanding access to improved public schools public charter schools private schools virtual education and homeschooling.
