Sen. Cornyn: With Passage Of Pelosi Health Care Bill Potential Impact On Texans Has Gone From Bad To Worse

Joins Greater Houston Congressional Delegation In Announcing New HHSC Analysis Of Pelosi Health Care Bill john-cornyn5HOUSTONU.S. Sen. John Cornyn a member of the Senate Finance Committee today joined U.S. Reps. John Culberson Michael McCaul and Ted Poe at the Texas Medical Center to discuss the latest on health care reform and announce the results of a new analysis of the specific cost to Texas of the recently passed House health care bill. culberson-mccaul-poeThey were also joined by leaders from several local chambers of commerce who are concerned with the legislation and the consequences it will have on small businesses. I thought things couldnt get worse when the Texas Health and Human Services Commission released an analysis indicating the Senate Finance Committee health care bill would cost Texans $20.4 billion over 10 years.  Then the House passed Speaker Pelosis health care bill and the potential impact on Texans went from bad to worse. HHSC projects the Pelosi bill will cost Texans $24 billion over 10 years and will make Medicaid the only option for millions of Texans" Sen. Cornyn said. While Washington continues to think it can just charge its reckless spending to future generations the budget realities in Texas will mean Nancy Pelosis priorities will crowd out other Texas priorities like education and law enforcement.  If the Senate does not put a stop to this Washington health care takeover Texans will see their taxes going up their premiums rising and for many seniors their Medicare benefits cut. All the while well be shouldering our children and grandchildren with trillions in unpaid debt."
