Texas Insider Report: KABUL AFGHANISTAN U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and four other Senators just completed a visit to Afghanistan and Israel.
Cruz joined Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on the trip as well as Senators John Barrasso (R-WY) Jeff Flake (R-AZ) and Deb Fischer (R-NE). During the trip the Senators met with U.S. military personnel military officials and political leaders to discuss political economic and security issues affecting bilateral and regional relations.
In addition to visiting troops from Texas Sen. Cruz joined the Senators to meet with:
- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
- Major General Larry Nicholson and
- General John Allen Commander of the International Security Assistance Force
The delegation returns to Washington D.C. on Tuesday.
