Senator Janek Delivers Resignation to Governor Perry

width=62HOUSTON – Texas Senator Kyle Janek met with Governor Rick Perry in Houston today and personally delivered his formal letter of resignation.  The two had lunch in Houston at Molina’s on Buffalo Speedway.

Janek a practicing anesthesiologist was first elected to the Texas House of Representative in 1994 reelected in 1996 1998 and 2000.  Subsequently he was elected to the Texas Senate in 2002 and reelected in 2006.

Janek said “For the past 13 years I have had the privilege of serving our state in the Texas House of Representatives and the Texas Senate.  That vantage point allowed me to witness the opportunities and challenges presented to our beloved state and to help formulate our responses.  For the chance to serve I will be forever grateful to my constituents.”

Janek had previously announced his intention to resign at a press conference at the Capitol on January 29 2008.
