Senator Patrick was named Senator of the Year by CLEAT (Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas) for his work this session on behalf of law and order in the state of Texas.

In 2007 Senator Patrick was named Freshman of the Year by the District Attorneys Association of Texas. These two awards underscore Dans promise to be a leader in public safety and fighting crime.
The CLEAT award is the third group that has named Senator Patrick their top Senator of the Year. Earlier this month Patrick was given the highest award by the National
Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) for cutting business taxes by $175 million for over 40000 small businesses.
Patrick was also given the Senator of the Year award by the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) for his work to protect business. He will also be given an award by the Texas Association of Business (TAB) for his pro business leadership.
In only two sessions Patrick has become the conservative leader in the Senate. These awards his 100 voting record and his ranking as the most conservative member of the Senate rated by virtually all of the conservative watchdog groups is proof that everyone in Austin and across Texas recognize he is keeping his campaign promise of being the conservative leader in the Texas Senate.
