Sens. Hutchison and Cornyn reviewed the applications for this vacancy through their Federal Judicial Evaluation Committee and ultimately recommended Judge Stevens to President Obama last year.
Im pleased Judge John Stevens Jr. of Beaumont has been nominated to serve as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas. Given Judge Stevens extensive legal and judicial experience Senator Cornyn and I proudly recommended him" said Hutchison.
Judge Stevens service to Jefferson County and the Eastern District makes him the right choice for U.S. Attorney and Im pleased that he will be coming to the Senate for confirmation" Hutchison said.
