Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX) Chairman of the House Rules Committee today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 644 Fighting Hunger Incentive Act of 2015 and H.R. 636 Americas Small Business Tax Relief Act of 2015:
This week the House of Representatives passed two bipartisan pieces of legislation that would improve our tax code to provide greater certainty to small businesses and families across America. Unfortunately Washington has created a culture of allowing important long-standing tax provisions to lapse or expire resulting in unproductive last-minute fixes. The measures that passed the House today would make those important provisions permanent and reliable.
The Fighting Hunger Incentive Act would permanently extend and expand the charitable deduction for donations of food making it easier for Americans to help those in need. Americas Small Business Tax Relief Act permanently extends provisions upon which businesses rely allowing them to better plan for a bright future grow their business and create American jobs. I applaud the House for passing these important pieces of legislation.
