Sessions: House Votes to Help American Workers Keep Their Health Plans

pete-sessions2WASHINGTON DC  U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX) Chairman of the House Rules Committee today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 3522 the Employee Health Care Protection Act: When selling his health care overhaul President Obama famously promised the American people that if you like your health care plan you can keep it.  That did not turn out to be true.  Last fall millions of Americans received cancellation notices that informed them that they could not keep their preferred health care plans even if they wanted to.  This year millions more with employer-sponsored health coverage could lose their preferred health care plans all due to ObamaCare and its onerous regulations. The Employee Health Care Protection Act would provide flexibility for those Americans who would otherwise be left with a health care plan that they do not want or one that they cannot afford.  Put simply this bill leaves employees with a choice that ObamaCare takes away.  Under H.R. 3522 if you like your health care plan you can keep it just like the President promised.  I remain committed to protecting American workers from losing their preferred health care coverage and providing them with more affordable health care choices.
