Sheffield in HD 59 is Subject of New Ethics Violation Complaint

Sheffield State Representative candidate in the Texas House District 59 Republican Primary against State Rep. Sid Miller is facing width=88new Texas Ethics violations complaints which if found in violation of hold the penalty of possible fines for the non-reporting of campaign funds & expenditures. In 2010 Sheffield ran for and was defeated by Miller in the Republican primary.   The winner of the Republican primary race between Miller Sheffield and veterinarian Mike Jones will face Democratic candidate Bill Norris in the November general election. Democrat Norris a 59-year old educator from Dublin says he is running for the House 59 seat to fix the education system. Miller chairman of the Houses Homeland Security & Public Safety Committee is a businessman and rancher. A resident of Stephenville the 56-year-old Miller has served District 59 since 2001. He was the House author of the conservatively-popular Sonogram Bill during the 2011 Legislative Session. Prior to his election to the State Legislature Miller served on a local school board. Sheffields website says he has been a small town doctor for 19 years and as a doctor husband and a community leader has earned a solid reputation for honesty integrity & service. According to the sworn complaint filed with the Texas Ethics Commission Sheffield is alleged to have used his campaign fund over the past seven months for personal use and has failed to fully disclose the contributors width=77occupations of residency as required while filing otherwise incomplete expenditures & contributions reports. Sheffield did not disclose the actual vendor-payee address date or stated purpose of 13 political expenditures says the complaint which claims to show a serious contribution discrepancy of $51461.10. Since the filing of the Ethics Complaint Sheffield failed to attend a Saturday scheduled VFW Forum 10 days ago. Jones the 55-year old veterinarian says he has new ideas for collecting sales tax and funding the states education system. Disclosure: State Representative Sid Miller has been named to Texas Insiders Best Legislator" Lists for his accomplishments during previous Legislative Sessions.
