As one of We the People" allow me to make some interesting observations about February 2012. What an interesting and revealing month we had! It started with the good news that the Komen Foundation was defunding Planned Parenthood. However very quickly it revealed the bullying and attack machine that Planned Parenthood has become. One would have thought that the whole financial rug had been pulled out from under them by the way they responded with such force.
The response did not fit the small amount of money that was being cut. The $800000 dollars pledged to Planned Parenthood is such a small percentage of their total revenues that it causes me to question the real message Planned Parenthood is trying to send and to whom.
Komen asked them not to go public with their defunding decision and Planned Parenthood agreed. For six weeks they kept quiet while they made their plans to go public and pressure Komen into capitulation which they then did.
At the same time and this may have been their intent all along they were also sending a message to any other company that would consider withdrawing support of Planned Parenthood.
Several informative things came out of these events.
- First it exposed the fact that Komen was giving grants to Planned Parenthood (not a well-known fact) for womens breast awareness and health programs and they dont even offer mammograms!
- Second it also exposed the fact that Komen like most cancer research organizations is more about money than an actual cure.
- Lastly it exposed Planned Parenthoods methods and agenda
The next bomb to drop came from the Obama administration in the form of a mandate. Working in cahoots with Planned Parenthood they mandated that all religious hospitals institutions churches people of faith etc. must pay for abortion and contraception by providing it in their health care policies offered to their employees.
When it comes to unlimited and free abortions forget Constitutional Rights for Americans of faith. Freedom of religion and freedom of conscience mean nothing to this administration. One can only hope this will wake up more of the American public to the damage that is being done to our inalienable rights.
The sad part is that the education establishment has done such a good job of not teaching the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution that the majority of Americans are clueless. If all they hear is the media spin on this mandate then they will believe it is simply a debate about birth control which is not the case at all.
Alexander Hamilton in an essay in the American Daily Advertiser in 1794 wrote
If it be asked What is the most sacred duty and the greatest source of our security in a Republic? The answer would be An inviolable respect for the Constitution and Laws -- the first growing out of the last. ... A sacred respect for the constitutional law is the vital principle the sustaining energy of a free government."
Many do not even understand that we are a nation of laws not of people. The rule of law is what protects our Republic. It is what has set this nation apart from all others through the last 250 years. Thank God for the rise of the Tea Party and other groups who have brought the Constitution and its importance back into the public discourse. Because of them the American populace is being exposed to these precious documents and the rights they guarantee.
There is only one other nation in the world that began with the rule of law rather than of men and that isIsrael. God chose them delivered them and gave them the law to live by that would set them apart from all the other nations around them.
Our forefathers also witnessed all that God did for them and were instructed by their pastors never to forget the goodness of God and to teach their children to trust the Lord and their American heritage. But just like the Israelites one generation follows God and the next generation goes astray.
Up and down back and forth until personal responsibility duty patriotism hard work equal opportunity and Judeo-Christian values have been deemed archaic virtues. Our true history has been lost as it has been exorcised from public education and replaced with cultural indoctrination.
The fact is parents and grandparents cant teach what they do not know. Now is the time to educate ourselves to our amazing history (the good and the bad we are not perfect). It is up to us to make sure that each generation has the proper respect and understanding of ourConstitutionalRepublic.

When we stress personal responsibility and hard work in our own lives and demand no less from our children and grandchildren we will begin to see a turning away from the entitlement mentality and idea that government must make everything in life fair (equal).
The truth is that life is not fair and never will be. We are all however given different gifts and abilities and if we have an atmosphere that promotes opportunity and a good work ethic we can succeed.
Opportunityis far more valuable than fairness or blanket equality. Fairness can only be achieved with heavy regulation which kills opportunity and restricts freedom.
Americans are waking up but it will take many more to wake up and take a stand for liberty.
The revelations that have come forth this February 2012 have been a wake-up call for many especially church leaders who have been in denial that any administration would by force of law (especially an unconstitutional law) mandate they provide a way for their employees to get free morning after pills and early abortion pills. Americans have always valued freedom of conscience" so it is quite shocking.
Couching-claiming this critical 1st Amendment issue is a womens health issue etc. purposely diverts attention from the true issue is even more shocking especially when so many dont even have the basic understanding that one of our most basic of freedoms is being stripped from us.
It was refreshing to hear so many Catholic and other Christian leaders declare they would go to jail rather than go against Gods law. I believe that is the place we all need to be.
Our forefathers were willing to sacrifice everything for liberty why should we be any different? The media which seem to be rejoicing in this loss of freedom for people of faith dont seem to understand that at some point their right to free speech will be restricted as well.

It will be interesting to see what March holds in store for us in this upside-down election season.
