Soros felt snubbed by Obama after trying to set up White House meeting
WASHINGTON D.C. (Texas Insider Report) Emails from Hillary Clintons private server recently released by the State Department show that billionaire and liberal donor George Soros regretted backing then-candidate Barack Obama during the 2008 Democratic primaries. And now according to the latest financial statement by the leading super-PAC supporting Hillary Clinton Soros gave $6 million last month to Priorities USA Action Committee.
Soros has now contributed a total of $7 million in this election cycle to Priorities USA Action which raised $41 million on behalf of Clinton in 2015.
In the last 6 months according to a report filed with the Federal Election Commission the Priorities USA Action super-PAC raised $25.3 million meaning that Soross contribution accounted for almost a quarter of its fundraising haul.
An email to Clinton in 2012 which was recently released as part of the Hillary Clinton State Department email controversy that has escalated in the past week Soros told a close Clinton ally that he regretted supporting Barack Obama over her in the 2008 primaries. He then praised Clinton for giving him an open door to discuss policy according
to emails released last month by the State Department.
In 2012 The New Yorker reported that Soros felt snubbed by Obama after trying unsuccessfully to set up a White House meeting with the president.
In a subsequent email to Clinton who was serving as the Obama Administrations Secretary of State at the time Neera Tanden head of the Center for American Progress recounted a conversation she had while seated next to Soros at a dinner sponsored by the liberal major donor club called Democracy Alliance.
Soros said he regretted his decision in the primary He likes to admit mistakes when he makes them and that was one of them. He then extolled his work with you from your time as First Lady on."
In 2004 Soros gave $27.5 million a record donation at the time to groups opposing President George W. Bush as reported by The New Yorker. The move prompted the Republican National Committee to accuse the business magnate of having purchased the Democratic Party." Soros born in Hungary and the founder of what was once one of the worlds largest hedge funds is the 26th wealthiest person in the world with a net worth of $24.4 billion according to Bloomberg. Other major donations to the Priorities USA Action super PAC last year included $5 million from media mogul Haim Saban and his wife Cheryl $2.3 million from philanthropist Laure Woods and $2.5 million from financier Donald Sussman. Soros is now considered among Clintons most important major donors having contributed to both the pro-Clinton Priorities USA Action super PAC as well as to the American Bridge 21st Century PAC in the first half of 2015.
