Arizonas SB 1070 architect Russell Pearce tagged to head State Senate
By George Scaggs
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Prior to last Tuesday Democrats held all 10 of the Congressional seats in districts bordering our neighbor to the south Mexico. That changed on Tuesday as the GOP gained 60 seats in the U.S. House 3 of which were in border districts 2 right here in Texas.
A 4th could be added as the 8th District of Arizona race remains too close to call. With the Democrat incumbent appearing to eke out re-election by 2500 votes on election night according to Arizona news sources tens of thousands of early voting ballots remain to be counted.
The race for Arizonas 7th District the other which borders Mexico was also surprisingly close. Though most observers have called this race the Republican challenger Ruth McClung has yet to concede.
Regardless the people have spoken and some things are going to change.
Among the many significant and encouraging developments revealed in Tuesdays election results are a few you wont find from Big Media analysis. Remember they only show us what they want us to see.
Not only do these self-proclaimed geniuses present the world through the lens of their own bias they often omit anything that is inconsistent with
their perspective.
Speaking of Arizona the states voters sent a clear message regarding their views on immigration & border policy.
Not only was Governor Jan Brewer handily re-elected by a thirteen point margin the GOP pulled off a clean sweep of statewide races for the first time since 1994. Among the casualties was the Democrat state attorney general who opposed SB1070.
Conservatives also built on the GOPs standing majority in Arizonas House and Senate producing a two-thirds majority in the legislative body.
To top it all off SB1070 architect Russell Pearce has been tagged to head the state senate.
Remember these are the same bold conservatives who have been savaged by Democrats and the press over Arizonas SB1070 and other immigration laws for the better part of the year.
In New Mexico Republican Susana Martinez became the nations 1st female Hispanic state executive easily defeating the Democrat incumbent.
Though the state government has always been lead by Democrats Republicans gained at least four seats in the state house. Once all the results are in they may produce a record number of Republicans in the New Mexico House.
The overwhelming message? Actually there are two.
First the veneer of Democratic dominance by racial identity is beginning to crack.
Just as with South Texas all of these areas have significant Hispanic populations. Conservative Hispanic leaders are stepping forward and beginning to chip away at liberal dominance in their communities.
Secondly it is abundantly clear that Americans in border states those who know best by direct experience the ill-effects of illegal immigration & open borders have had enough.
The federal government has abdicated its responsibility. It has failed to do
the job. One way or another people want that fixed!
Expect immigration and border policy to be an increasingly important battlefront for States Rights.
