State Legislators Applaud Perry Abbott and Staples

dan-flynnAUSTIN TEXAS We stand with the Governor Attorney General and Ag Commissioner as they fight to protect Texans from the political agenda of the EPA and the Obama Administration stated Flynn. The time has come for Texas to chart our own path for a strong economy reliable and readily-available energy resources and a clean environment. The endangerment finding issued in December by the EPA is the latest salvo in the federal governments full-fledged assault on the private sector economy in the name of global warming.  The pending federal regulations will have dire consequences for the Texas economy without improving the environment. Furthermore the alleged threat posed to the public health by greenhouse gases is questionable in light of the recent international scandal over misinterpreted and even fabricated climate data. The federal government is misguided in its approach to energy and environmental policy.  In Texas we have relied on private sector innovation to deliver workable clean energy technologies.  Texas now has more installed wind generation capacity than any other state in the nation and is internationally recognized as a leader in the development of this renewable resource even while maintaining a significant and thriving oil and gas industry.  Texas rarely gets the credit we deserve for marked improvements in environmental quality commented Flynn. Texas ranks as one of the cleanest states in the nation for emissions of key pollutants by electric generators.  Emissions of nitrogen oxide sulfur dioxide carbon monoxide in Texas have decreased significantly since 1985.  Looking specifically at Texas electric generating plants statistics from the EPA show that Texas has the seventh cleanest nitrogen oxide emissions rate in the nation. The growing power and influence of the federal government is costing Texans their liberty and the endangerment finding by the EPA is only the latest of many attempts by the federal government to exert even greater control over Texans daily lives.
