AUSTIN TEXAS: The official website of the state of Texas www.TexasOnline.com has been updated to incorporate a new look features and functions to improve ease of use.
This most recent release of TexasOnline includes a number of enhancements designed to meet the ever-growing demands of citizens for a technologically advanced and interactive web experience.

• New user-centric services for citizens businesses veterans parents and seniors
• Localized and dynamic updates such as RSS feeds for news weather and traffic
• Expanded multimedia content
• Improved personalization capabilities
• Expanded multi-lingual accessibility incorporating English Spanish French Chinese German Italian and Korean translations
“The TexasOnline website has been ranked in the top ten nationally in services to citizens for the past two years according to Brown University studies” said Brian S. Rawson Chief Technology Officer of the State.
“These latest improvements to the navigation look and feel and content of the site show we are constantly looking for ways to improve” he added.
TexasOnline was developed by the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) and a private contractor BearingPoint. Since its inception in 2000 TexasOnline has grown to over 800 online services providing citizens and businesses with a myriad of opportunities to interact with state agencies and local governments via the Internet.
In addition TexasOnline has processed more than 85 million online transactions generated more than $7 billion in state and local revenues and received more than 125 million visits.
The current contract to manage TexasOnline expires December 31 2009. DIR is undertaking a competitive procurement process to establish the next generation statewide web portal.
