Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas It was an honor to serve the citizens of House District 35 in Austin and I intend to continue serving them for the remainder of my term which ends in December 2012 said Representative Jose Aliseda announcing he will not seek re-election to the Texas House of Representatives. The
first term Republican from Beeville will run instead for District Attorney for the 156th Judicial District of Bee Live Oak & McMullen Counties.
I am grateful for the opportunity I was given to serve in the legislature and will always cherish my time there. I believe I made an impact this last legislative session on important issues such as Voter ID mail-in ballot fraud and a balanced budget without raising taxes.
Aliseda will be running for the position currently held by District Attorney Martha Warner who has informed him that she does not intend to run for re-election due to health reasons.
The possibility of serving as District Attorney for my home and neighboring counties will allow me to use my experience in criminal justice to continue to serve the public and be closer to my family and ranch Aliseda said.
Aliseda has formerly served in the criminal law area as a United States Naval J.A.G. Officer (5 years) as the Bee County Attorney (8 years) where he made a name for himself prosecuting voter fraud and political corruption.
He also sat on the judicial bench as the Bee County Judge (4 years) and Governor Rick Perry appointed him as a Board Member to the Texas Board

of Pardons and Paroles (5 1/2 years).
During his first legislative sessionAliseda was appointed by Speaker of the House Joe Straus to the House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee which has jurisdiction over criminal law matters. For his outstanding service in the Legislature on criminal justice matters
the Texas District & County Attorneys Association recognized him as their Freshman of the Year.
My experience as a former prosecutor judge Parole Board Member and serving on the Criminal Jurisprudence Committee will help me serve as an effective District Attorney for Bee Live Oak and McMullen counties said Aliseda.
