Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas –
“Its like anything else these days … there’s a whole lot being said, but those saying it don’t have all the facts,” says the Texas House’s Select Committee on Govt. Transparency & Operations Co-Chair Dan Flynn of the controversial and much-watched UT Board of Regents Investigation.
“The facts, to try and boil it down to something small, there was a bill introduced by Chairman Jim Pitts for impeachment of UT Regent Wallace Hall.
“Its come to our committee, and as its come to the committee we’re looking at that issue. It’s somewhat unusual … there’s only been two impeachments in the history of the State of Texas,” said Flynn of the investigation he believes will soon come to completion.
“Hopefully, its my plan and my desire that we can wrap this up by the end of the year,” Flynn said of the Committee’s timeframe to issue a Final Recommendation later in December.

“We have believed (as a Committee,) because of some of the juvenile records that are there, we haven’t felt comfortable to be able to put that (type of information) out before the public, because there are certain laws we have to adhere to.
“That’s a good reason, and one of the reasons we’ve had some of our meetings in Executive Session,” said Flynn.
“There will be a number of options for us to consider,” said the Select Committee on Govt. Transparency & Operations Co-Chair.
