Chuck Hopson was honored as a Fighter of Free Enterprise" at the associations annual conference for legislative achievements.   As a longtime small business owner Hopson understands the dangers local businesses face when dealing with government regulations and the importance of keeping taxes low. Rep. Hopson received this award as a result of his stellar pro-business voting record during the past legislative session. It has always been a legislative priority of mine to make sure that Texas continues to be an attractive market for new businesses and a stable environment for consistent job growth and width=180economic development" Hopson said. Thats why I fought to eliminate business taxes for thousands of small business in Texas and helped protect East Texas vital timber industry and I will continue to be a strong advocate for our local chambers of commerce and economic development districts." Hopson has also recently been endorsed for re-election by respected organizations such as the:

This past session Hopson successfully fought to help balance our state budget without raising taxes increased our states border security passed a photo voter ID requirement passed a proof of citizenship requirement for those seeking a Texas drivers license supported our veterans restored local community controls to public education strengthened property owner rights and width=120defended pro-life and pro-family values. A 4th generation Texan and local pharmacist Hopson has also served on his local School Board and City Council. He and his wife Billie a former public school educator and counselor for more than 30 years and now in private practice have three grown children and seven grandchildren. They are active members of the First United Methodist Church where he has served as a Sunday School teacher. Hopson represents House District 11 which under the new redistricting plan will include Cherokee Nacogdoches & Rusk Counties.
