Texas Insider Report: DRIPPING SPRINGS Texas Its crucial that Texas continue the policies of fiscal restraint and free enterprise that have allowed us to become the driving force of the nation" said State Rep. Jason Isaac (R-Dripping Springs) last week at an annual BBQ fundraiser at the Salt Lick in Driftwood. Special guest Congressman Lamar Smith addressed the 300 gathered in support of Isaac and talked about battles being fought in Washington D.C.
Im humbled by the support from my family friends & supporters and am asking my friends and neighbors to allow me to continue serving them in the Texas House of Representatives" Isaac said.
Although this kind of turnout is often typical of longer-serving politicians drawing crowds of lobbyists to their Austin fundraisers the vast majority of the people at Isaacs event were local constituents who expressed their support for their State Representative.
During comments Isaac discussed a wide range of issues covering Voter ID EPA regulations to college tuition rates.
Isaacs re-election announcement saying he will run for re-election to the current Texas House seat came after months of speculation that he was being encouraged to run for a newly drawn Congressional District covering much of the area.
Despite encouragement to run for the newly created Congressional District that includes western Hays County Isaac said he knows he serves an important role at the state level.
In his official announcement Isaac said
It is an incredible honor to serve my constituents and our state. I am proud of what we accomplished during this past legislative session but there is still more work to be done.
I look forward to continuing to earn the vote of my constituents by fighting for their principals and values in Austin."
Texans for Fiscal Responsibility presented Isaac with its Taxpayer Champion" award during the event to overwhelming support for Isaac and his grassroots support in the district.
House District 45 which Rep. Isaac serves is currently comprised of Hays Blanco & Caldwell counties. Due to continued growth in the area south & west of Austin HD 45 will include only Hays and Blanco counties after redistricting.
This is good news for Isaac a 1st term Republican.
Isaac defeated an Democrat incumbent last year in what was one of the states highest-profile races but with an even stronger Republican

population in the new district his chances of facing a serious challenger in the general election appear slim. Although conservatives in Caldwell County will lose him as their representative they likely will keep Isaacs ties as part of the central Texas delegation.
If Isaacs recent event is any indication of whats in store for this up & coming State Representative his ability to connect with the grassroots and effectively serve his constituency indicates
a bright future in Texas politics.
