State Representative Jeff Leach Receives Committee Assignments for the 84th Legislative Session
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Today Texas Speaker of the House Joe Straus announced committee assignments for the 84th Legislative Session appointing Representative Leach to serve on the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence and the House Committee on Government Transparency & Operation.
In response Representative Leach stated I am looking forward with great anticipation to a productive legislative session that tackles the real opportunities and challenges that Texans expect and deserve for us to address. This starts with passing a more honest and transparent budget that prioritizes our states core functions of government - including public education water and transportation infrastructure public safety and criminal justice - securing our border and delivering on the conservative principles that my constituents sent me to Austin to fight for. Serving the wonderful people of House District 67 is a tremendous honor and blessing and I look forward to continue advocating on their behalf through my committees and on the floor of the Texas House.
A fourth-generation Texan born and raised in Plano Representative Jeff Leach graduated from Plano Senior High before attending Baylor University where he served as Student Body President for two consecutive terms. He went on to earn his law degree from Southern Methodist Universitys Dedman School of Law and currently practices at the Texas law firm of Gray Reed & McGraw P.C. specializing in general and civil commercial litigation real estate and construction law. Representative Leach and his wife Becky a small business owner are the proud parents of Brady (age six) Charlotte (age four) and Landry (3 months). They are active members of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano where they have served for several years in the Young Families Ministry. In 2013 Representative Leach was sworn-in to serve House District 67 in the Texas House of Representatives. He is currently serving his second term.
