Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas It would not be unusual given the history weve had in Texas the last couple of years that somebody will not like all the districts & will file some kind of a lawsuit. So we want to be sure as best we can that the map we draw is defendable and legal
State Representative Jim Jackson told Texas Insider as the House Redistricting debate took place just prior to being approved
on a 92-52 vote early Thursday morning.
Its impossible to draw 101 districts in which wed be reasonably assured of electing Republicans. First it has to go before a 3 judge panel in the District of Columbia or to the U.S. Justice Department said Jackson (R-Dallas) a key player in the drawing of new boundary lines for the Texas House.
While debate over House Bill 150s new boundaries was underway on the floor of the Texas House Jackson visited with Texas Insiders George Scaggs.
