Leaders Across West Texas Applaud Decision
Texas Insider Report: PLAINVIEW Texas I was proud to co-author and pass the budget as well as Voter I.D. Legislation to protect the integrity of our ballot box and redistricting maps that saved two West Texas seats for the next decade.
But if I had to pick my proudest moment it had to be when 12 or so of us fought for amendments that permanently defunded over $60 million of taxpayer dollars from going to abortion providers" said Rep. Jim Landtroop in announcing his bid for reelection to the Texas State House.
We had to fight all the way but life is worth fighting for and the result was powerful. Twelve abortion clinics have already closed their doors. We got a lot done last session namely balancing the budget by cutting spending without raising taxes or exhausting our rainy day fund" stated Landtroop.
Local leaders applauded Landtroops decision to run again saying that we need his common sense conservative leadership back in Austin.

Like many of my friends I am tired of spineless politicians who are more concerned with getting reelected than doing the hard things it will take to turn our country around. Jim understands that government is the problem - not the answer - and it needs to get out of the way for our economy to rebound. Whats better is he has the proven track record and the backbone to take the hard votes on behalf of West Texas."
During the last legislative session Jim showed that he was a listener. He met with our West Texas educators and administrators and truly listened to what we said our needs were. Then he went to Austin and let those needs determine his votes" noted Plainview ISD Principal Greg Brown.

I hope that next session will afford us the ability to address real and meaningful education reform as well as water policy. We must also limit burdensome regulations that are strangling our small businesses and the ag and energy sector. Though most of those regulations come from D.C. we must eliminate the ones that come from Austin and continue to support and fully fund Atty Gen. Greg Abbott in his fight for States Rights and his battle to overturn Obamacare" said Landtroop.
