State Rep. Landtroop Launches Re-Election Bid for State House

width=202Leaders Across West Texas Applaud Decision Texas Insider Report: PLAINVIEW Texas  I was proud to co-author and pass the budget as well as Voter I.D. Legislation to protect the integrity of our ballot box and redistricting maps that saved two West Texas seats for the next decade. But if I had to pick my proudest moment it had to be when 12 or so of us fought for amendments that permanently defunded over $60 million of taxpayer dollars from going to abortion providers" said Rep. Jim Landtroop in announcing his bid for reelection to the Texas State House.   We had to fight all the way but life is worth fighting for and the result was powerful. Twelve abortion clinics have already closed their doors. We got a lot done last session namely balancing the budget by cutting spending without raising taxes or exhausting our rainy day fund" stated Landtroop. Local leaders applauded Landtroops decision to run again saying that we need his common sense conservative leadership back in Austin. Jim is very humble strong and stands up for what he thinks is right noted Businesswoman Nancy Dunlap of Pampa. Like many of my friends I am tired of spineless politicians who are more concerned with getting reelected than doing the hard things it will take to turn our country around. Jim understands that government is the problem - not the answer - and it needs to get out of the way for our economy to rebound. Whats better is he has the proven track record and the backbone to take the hard votes on behalf of West Texas." During the last legislative session Jim showed that he was a listener. He met with our West Texas educators and administrators and truly listened to what we said our needs were. Then he went to Austin and let those needs determine his votes" noted Plainview ISD Principal Greg Brown. Jim represented our district well and I can happily recommend his re-election as our width=93representative." As Mayor of Big Spring I have always been on Jim Landtroops team" noted Tommy Duncan. Jim is a fine Christian man who does what he says he will do. I liked how he laid out his Contract with West Texas in the campaign then worked to fulfill those promises in Austin. He has a lot of common sense which is a rare commodity in government. Jim is pro-life pro-family and believes that government should live within its means just like we have to here in West Texas. Thats why I believe in Jim Landtroop. As a farmer making a living in West Texas I am proud to support Representative Jim Landtroop in his reelection campaign" said Steve Johnson from Plainview. Jim understands what it takes to run a business and he is fighting against the excessive regulations that are killing our industry. As a member of the Agriculture and Livestock Committee Jim authored HB 1324 and helped pass SB 248 to protect grain producers across Texas. He is a strong advocate for private property rights and he partnered with Farm Bureau to pass the long awaited eminent domain bill last session. He has my full support. The campaign is having two kickoff events this week embracing the current redistricting situation. You have to have a sense of humor in politics" said Landtroop. Currently the great folks of HD85 are my constituents and the good people of HD88 are my future constituents. We will know in a couple of weeks what counties will be included in the final maps. Until then come join us at one of this weeks events for some fun and width=107fellowship!" I hope that next session will afford us the ability to address real and meaningful education reform as well as water policy. We must also limit burdensome regulations that are strangling our small businesses and the ag and energy sector. Though most of those regulations come from D.C. we must eliminate the ones that come from Austin and continue to support and fully fund Atty Gen. Greg Abbott in his fight for States Rights and his battle to overturn Obamacare" said Landtroop. Landtroops Contract with West Texas is posted on his website and he will continue to defend West Texas family values fight for smaller government and protect rural West Texas teachers when reelected.
