State Rep. Paul Workman Files for Re-election

Said State Representative Paul Workman (R-Austin) Friday while filing for re-election to the Texas House of Representatives. I look forward to the upcoming campaign" said Workman the lone Republican in the Travis County House Delegation. Along with filing for re-election Workman announced the support of five local mayors including:
  • Mayor Dave DeOme (Lakeway)
  • Mayor Doug Lindgren (The Hills)
  • Mayor Al Hostetler (Briarcliff)
  • Mayor Caroline Murphy (Bee Cave) and
  • Mayor Justine Blackmore-Hlista (Volente)
He also announced the addition of over 140 local business leaders to the previously created Business Backs Workman" a representation by the business community of their confidence in Rep. Workmans ability to keep taxes low and fight for a pro-growth regulatory environment. Following his freshman year as a state legislator Representative Workman was named a Taxpayer Champion by Texans for Fiscal Responsibility receiving an A rating for his fiscally conservative votes. In addition he was recognized as a Champion of Free Enterprise" by the Associated Builders and Contractors a Fighter for Free Enterprise" by the Texas Association of Business and a Courageous Conservative" by the Texas Conservative Coalition. During his first session in the House Representative Workman served on the House Committee on Business & Industry the House Committee on Corrections and the House Committee on Rules and Resolutions. He was also appointed by the Speaker to The Energy Council which helps facilitate the development of national energy policy matters among the Southwestern states. I am excited to once again have the opportunity to serve the people of Travis County and continue the work that they sent me to do last election. Texas will face many challenges during the next legislative session and once again I intend to represent the interests of my constituents on issues of importance to them." Rep.
