Today is Veterans Day. A day set aside to honor our nations heroes. Those who answer the call to military service demonstrate acts of valor bravery and consequence. The courage it takes to put on the uniform and put yourself in harms way day after day is inspiring to us all. There is no higher calling than to serve and protect those you love from forces of harm. My heart swells with deep respect for our service members and their families.
The families of our service members are unsung heroes during times of war and times of peace. They voluntarily put their entire lives into uncertainty as moving from one deployment to the next become the status quo. Military families display a unique bravery that comes from being the one left at home when your loved one goes off to training or war. Today we recognize and honor their scarifies too.
I would encourage everyone to not only thank Veterans for their heroic bravery but also truly hear them and respect any story they might be willing to share. Earnestly listen to these stories and understand the values of selflessness and honor each tale reflects.
Today and every day I implore every person to pay tribute to our Veterans their families and the sacrifices they made to keep our country safe and our freedoms persistent.
