“Today the comptroller delivered a revenue estimate that reflects the uncertainty about the national economy and to a lesser extent the Texas economy. While Texas continues to be in a better financial position than most other states this revenue estimate reminds us we are not an island and reaffirms the importance of fiscal responsibility and prudent spending decisions. . . I am confident we will be able to meet our state’s needs within this revenue estimate by prioritizing our spending.”
