Stefani Carter to Address CPAC

Named a Rising Conservative Leader by American Conservative Union 

Stefani-CarterTwo-term State Representative and Republican candidate for Texas Railroad Commission, Stefani Carter (R-Dallas), has been named to address the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) gathering in St. Louis next weekend. Carter was also named one of “10 under 40” rising stars in the conservative movement by the American Conservative Union.

“I’m honored to be selected to speak at CPAC and to be identified by such a prestigious grassroots conservative organization as a rising star in the conservative movement,” said Carter.

“I welcome the chance to talk about how conservative values and ideals can take this country from the morass in which we find ourselves to a brighter, more prosperous future.”

As a champion of conservative ideology, Carter has consistently been named one of the most conservative members of the Texas House. Carter has been twice awarded the “Taxpayer

Champion Award” by Texans for Fiscal Responsibility and the “Courageous Conservative Award” by the Texas Conservative Coalition. As to her conservative awards, Carter said, “I have worked hard to promote conservative principles across Texas, and I look forward to sharing my conservative vision with voters in my race for the Texas Railroad Commission.”

Founded in 1964, ACU is the oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization in the nation. ACU’s “10 under 40” honor is presented to ten young dynamic state-level elected leaders, under the age of 40, who are rising stars in the conservative movement.

Among other confirmed CPAC speakers are Governor Rick Perry, anti-tax advocate Grover Norquist, and former GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28, at the St. Charles Convention Center. Carter is slated to speak at 5:07 pm.

Stefani Carter, a former member of the House Energy Resources Committee and current

Vice-Chair of the House Energy Caucus, is in her second term in the Texas House. Carter, the first African-American Republican woman of the Texas House of Representatives, is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Harvard School of Law.
