Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN TEXAS Spending restraint & accountability for taxpayer dollars will be critical to our efforts to balance the state budget with no tax increases as I have committed to do said Speaker Joe Straus today following release of the letter sent to Texas State Agencies directing them to identify savings of 2.5 of their original general revenue & general-revenue-dedicated appropriations for the remainder of the 2011 fiscal year.
These additional budget cuts reflect the will of the people and our states leaders to keep state spending within the boundaries of available revenues said Speaker Straus.
