TAB Recognizes State Rep. Ken Paxton as 2009 Free Enterprise Champion

Ken Paxton was recently named a Champion for Free Enterprise" by the Texas Association of Business (TAB) for his strong pro-business voting record during the 81st Legislative Session.  Paxton scored a 94 for his voting record supporting Texas businesses and creating and maintaining Texas jobs. The Champion for Free Enterprise" accolade is TABs most prestigious legislative award.  Champions must have scored 90 or better on the key issues important to Texas employers to receive this award. District 70 has a legislator who understands the needs of business said TAB President Bill Hammond. Ken Paxton is a champion of supporting business legislation that results in job creation economic expansion and opportunity for all Texans. I am honored to receive the Champion of Free Enterprise Award from the Texas Association of Business" said Rep. Paxton.  Government should not interfere with the productivity of taxpayers and businesses and I will continue to promote public policies that eliminate obtrusive laws and unnecessary taxes and promotes responsible government spending. Ken Paxton who has consistently been named a TAB Champion for Free Enterprise" throughout his legislative career is currently serving as the State Representative for District 70 which consists of Frisco Allen McKinney Prosper and Celina.  He serves on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee and Land and Resource Management Committee.  In presidential election years 2004 and 2008 he received more general election votes than any other state representative in Texas.  Additionally he has been named Texas Taxpayer Hero by Texans for Fiscal Responsibility and has been named to the Texas Association of REALTORS Legislative Hall of Fame for his uncompromising commitment to championing the rights of homeowners.   Ken Paxton lives in McKinney Texas with his wife Angela and their four children; Tucker (16) Abby (14) Madison (12) and Katie (10).  Along with his family Representative Paxton is an active charter member of Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco where he has participated in various leadership roles.   Founded in 1922 the Texas Association of Business is a broad-based bipartisan organization representing more than 3000 small and large Texas employers and 200 local chambers of commerce.
