ATLANTA GA- Peggy Venable Texas Director of Americans for Prosperity will be speaking to the Heritage Foundation’s Resource Bank conference on Friday about the problem of taxpayer dollars being used to fund lobby activities that are anti-taxpayer.
Venable successfully sued the Texas Association of Counties for violating a state law that prohibited counties from paying dues to an association that works to influence legislation.
“We were the first organization to quantify and expose the practice of pitting the taxman against the taxpayer” said Venable. “When citizens are working hard to take care of their families and pay their taxes these taxpayers should not have to worry that some of their tax dollars are being used to lobby to dig deeper into the taxpayers’ pockets.”
