General Abbotts endorsement of Jim Pitts re-election campaign follows recent endorsements made by Texas Comptroller Susan Combs the National Rifle Association and the Texas State Rifle Association.
Pitts has been responsible for the largest spending cuts and largest property tax cut in our states history and has worked tirelessly as Appropriations Chairman to successfully pass budgets that lower debt and balance the budget without raising taxes.
In addition to chairing the Appropriations Committee Pitts serves on the Committee on State Sovereignty and the Joint Committee on Oversight of Higher Ed Governance Excellence & Transparency. House District 10 is comprised of Ellis County and a portion of Henderson County.
Pitts is a Waxahachie attorney. He also owns the Ellis County Abstract and Title Company is a director of Citizens National Bank in Waxahachie and is a Director of Sims Library. Pitts previously served as President of the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce President of the board of trustees of Presbyterian Childrens Services and President of the Waxahachie Independent School District. He and his late wife Evelyn have three children.
